Newark Academy, a distinguished independent school with a 250-year legacy of innovative, relationship-centered teaching and learning, invites nominations and applications for the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

A co-ed independent day school serving approximately 675 students in grades 6–12, Newark Academy is known for its rigorous academic programs, vibrant arts and athletics, and a culture that values curiosity, integrity, and global citizenship.

The CFO will join Newark Academy at an exciting time. With a forward-looking strategic plan in motion and a Board of Trustees committed to long-term sustainability and innovation, the school seeks a financial executive who can continue to elevate its financial stewardship and operational excellence.

Reporting directly to the Head of School and working closely with the Board, the CFO will serve as a key institutional leader and strategic partner — overseeing finance, campus master planning, campus safety and risk management, and providing strategic guidance to human resources and all campus operations.

Search Process

Newark Academy has engaged NBOA Advisory Services to lead the search for its next Chief Financial Officer.

This search is being conducted in close partnership with the Head of School and his CFO Search Committee, and reflects the school’s commitment to identifying a strategic, mission-aligned financial leader with direct independent school experience who will help shape Newark Academy’s future.

Search Timeline
