Chuck McCullagh served as the Chief Financial Officer at the Williston Northampton School of Easthampton, Massachusetts, for twenty-four years, from 1999 until 2023. During Chuck’s tenure at Williston, he orchestrated the complete restructuring of the school’s financial management systems, guided nine significant construction projects, monitored numerous renovations to faculty residences, executed eighteen different property purchases and was the primary voice on campus for Williston’s environmental initiatives. He served as liaison and advisor to Board of Trustees committees for Finance, Facilities, Investments, Audit, Executive (Compensation) and Governance. Additionally, Chuck worked with Williston students in areas such as the campus recycling program, the investment club, coached soccer and taught a class on entrepreneurship. 

Previously, he was the Business Manager at Christchurch School in Christchurch, Virginia from 1995-1999. Prior to his career in schools, Chuck worked in industrial manufacturing and distribution from 1982 until 1995. Chuck earned a B.S. from Boston College and a M.B.A. from the University of Connecticut. 

Chuck was honored to serve on the board of the NBOA from 2016 through 2022, and during that time, served as Board Chair from 2019-2021. He held the roles of president, treasurer, and secretary for the Association of Business Officers of Preparatory Schools (ABOPS). He was a long-tenured member of the Association of Business Officers of Independent Schools (ABOIS). Chuck served on the Governing Committee of the health insurance consortium Independent School Benefit Corporation (ISBC) and the Massachusetts-based property/liability insurance consortium Cranberry Group. Chuck sits on several boards for organizations in Western Massachusetts. Chuck was the recipient of NBOA’s Kenneth A. White Distinguished Business Officer Award in 2023 and received the Distinguished Service Award from Williston Northampton in 2023. 

Chuck and his wife Martha, who also worked at Williston Northampton as a calculus teacher and coach, have two adult daughters who are both graduates of Williston Northampton.
