David Schintzius

David Schintzius is an accomplished financial leader with more than 30 years of experience in corporate and independent school finance. Since founding Two Bays Solutions, LLC in 2023, David has served as a fractional CFO, an Interim CFO and a strategic advisor to independent schools and nonprofits, providing expertise in business office assessments, organizational redesign, and financial governance. His consulting work includes guiding heads of school in financial acumen, supporting boards in monitoring key financial indicators, and filling mission-critical roles during leadership transitions.

From 2018 to 2023, David was Director of Finance and Operations at Tampa Preparatory School, where he transformed the business office into a strategic partner to the school and board. His leadership included implementing a school-wide management information system, securing PPP funding, and co-chairing the New Building Task Force for a $20 million STEM and Administration facility. During his tenure, the school’s endowment grew by 89%, and he introduced long-term financial planning, redesigned the annual budget process, and developed dashboards to enhance financial transparency.

Prior to his work in education, David held senior finance leadership roles in global corporations. He served as Vice President, Finance at Tech Data Corporation, where he relaunched the company’s Enterprise Risk Management program, and as Vice President, Global Financial Operations and Enterprise Risk Management at Avnet, Inc. His earlier career includes executive leadership positions at Sears Holdings, McKesson Corporation, Pitney Bowes, and Chiquita Brands International. A Certified Public Accountant (inactive), David began his career in public accounting with Ernst & Young after earning his bachelor’s degree in business administration / accounting from SUNY Buffalo.

David is deeply engaged in community service, currently serving as Treasurer and Board Member for St. Petersburg Primary School and The Tampa Repertory Theatre Company. He has also served on the boards of Community Tampa Bay, Marriage Matters Arizona, and the Metropolitan Community Foundation of San Francisco. David and his husband, Geoff, live in Tampa, Florida, and are the proud parents of twin daughters, Emma and Paige.
