David Wright

Retired CFO, University School (OH)

David Wright retired from University School in Cleveland, Ohio as the Finance Director in September 2023.

He was in this role for 24 years. Prior to University School, David was the CFO of the Ohio Turnpike and VP of Finance of a small liberal arts college in Northeast Ohio. He began his career in corporate accounting for major retailers.

University School is a Junior Kindergarten through 12th grade all-boys private day school with an enrollment of 850 students. David oversaw all the financial operations, food service, maintenance, housekeeping and transportation. The School’s operating budget was $30 million, and its Endowment was $120 million. 

David is currently serving on the board of Independent School Benefits Consortium (ISBC), a national health care captive servicing 90+ private independent schools throughout the United States. Since retiring he has performed various consulting roles related to private schools. 

David served on a variety of non-profit boards, including the National Business Officers Association (NBOA).
